{"id":491,"date":"2016-05-17T09:19:04","date_gmt":"2016-05-17T13:19:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/?p=491"},"modified":"2016-05-17T09:19:04","modified_gmt":"2016-05-17T13:19:04","slug":"say-it-isnt-so","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/?p=491","title":{"rendered":"Say It Isn&#8217;t So"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/body-piercing-33.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-494\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-494\" src=\"http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/body-piercing-33-238x300.jpg\" alt=\"body piercing-33\" width=\"493\" height=\"621\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/body-piercing-33-238x300.jpg 238w, http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/body-piercing-33-768x968.jpg 768w, http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/body-piercing-33-812x1024.jpg 812w, http:\/\/sallemander.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/body-piercing-33.jpg 1549w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 493px) 100vw, 493px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Oh no!&#8230;Say it isn&#8217;t so!!!&#8221; Willy whined, staring down at his belly in horror.\u00a0 &#8220;This is just getting weird&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0His therapist told him time and again to let his &#8216;inner child&#8217; out but THIS was ridiculous!\u00a0 What began as common heartburn blossomed into something completely bizarre.<\/p>\n<p>Willy was the typical modern American man; A politically connected (racist), deeply religious (extremist), highly educated (affluent) corporate executive (dullard) &#8211; a completely normal, well adjusted person in a desperately broken society.\u00a0 So naturally, he was quite fucked.\u00a0 It was no wonder he developed chronic aches and pains&#8230;and over time they became rather terrible.<\/p>\n<p>Willy&#8217;s doctors found nothing wrong with him, no infections, no disorders, no cancers.\u00a0 They told him it was &#8216;all in his head&#8217; (it was actually in his torso, an inch above his liver and just to the left of his pancreas) but his shrink found him just as fit as his peers.\u00a0 Still, the pain got worse and worse until finally, at his absolute breaking point, Willy had&#8230;..a breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p>He woke up one night from a juicy steak and alcohol-induced stupor to find a finger sticking out of his belly (and the complete absence of pain).\u00a0 It was so weird he thought he must be dreaming and dropped off again but by morning a whole arm had emerged while a pair of feet proceeded to push out of his back with a gooshie spluck.\u00a0 He was so freaked out, he fainted&#8230;..and when he got up again, he could do nothing but watch as a whole person emerged form his torso, front and back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Holy crap on a cracker!!!&#8221; he screamed.\u00a0 But the Willy in his belly, who looked just as frantic, hollered, &#8220;Shut up, old man!&#8230;How do you think I feel?!\u00a0 Oh no&#8230;Say it isn&#8217;t so!!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>***We spent the better part of two days\u00a0in the NJ motor vehicle gauntlet this week, getting licenses renewed and title, tags and registration done for a car.\u00a0 John did this sketch while we waited which perfectly captured the experience in one shot.\u00a0 -Marsha<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Oh no!&#8230;Say it isn&#8217;t so!!!&#8221; Willy whined, staring down at his belly in horror.\u00a0 &#8220;This is just getting weird&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0His therapist told him time and again to let his &#8216;inner child&#8217; out but THIS was ridiculous!\u00a0 What began as common heartburn blossomed into something completely bizarre.
